Preparing for your Computer Repair in Frederick County Md

“My computer isn’t working”, will never get you anywhere when it comes to computer repairs. To be able to get the most out of your repair work, knowing the right things to tell a technician is critical. No place would expect you to know all the terminology, or be able to recognize what is the problem; but the details of your problems should be described to help give the computer repair technician a clear picture of what is wrong.

To help do this, being prepared before calling or visiting the computer repair company will help not only you in explaining but also the technician working on your computer. To do this more efficiently and to make sure things aren’t missed, writing it all down will help you. Things to keep in mind could be: did you have an error message pop up? if so, what did it say? What is your computer doing exactly? (running slowly, shutting off, virus pop-ups, etc.?) When did your problems start, and have they gotten worse or changed in any way?

When describing your problems to the computer repair tech, its also very important to tell them what you have done in ways of trying to fix your problem. For example, some virus pop-ups will tell you that you need to scan and fix using their programs, but almost always these are ways to get the virus onto your system. If you went through with these scans thinking it would make your system better, you need to let the technician know.

Being thorough with your details could make the difference of being able to figure out what the problem with your computer is. Pay attention to any changes in the color of the lights on your computer or monitor. Check to see if there are new programs added to your computer that you haven’t noticed before. If you are having specific pop-ups appearing, what is it that they are saying to you? Keen details are able to help describe exactly what is going on with your computer.

Some computer problems are easier to detect and fix than others are, so although you aren’t the expert in the computer repairs; being prepared can help the process go smoothly. So stay calm and keep your emotions in check and trust your computer repair technician to help out in anyway possible.

  1. Ever had a computer white screen? My laptop kept doing that; luckily it was still under warranty. The 1st time I sent it off they didn't repair it properly. They figured out it was an LED cable in the monitor the 2nd time and now it's fixed. :)
